About the Founder - Dr. Cynthia L. Chess
As one of God’s dedicated and anointed prayer warriors, she loves to pray and intercede on behalf
of the Body of Christ. Equipped with the boldness to seek and believe God for whatever the Holy
Spirit has impressed in her spirit to pray for, she is one who "prays without ceasing." Her life reflects
an anointing that is the result of spending countless hours in the presence of
God.
She is often moved by the Holy Spirit to minister in the Prophetic, declaring what “thus says the
Lord”. Pastor Chess ministers in the truth of Isaiah 58:1 which commands that the prophet of God
“Cry aloud and spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet and show my people their transgressions
and the house of Jacob their sins”. As God word's her mouth, she teaches and preaches a life
changing message of deliverance, enlightenment, and encouragement.
Pastor Chess has a sincere heart and a love for God's people. She is unwavering in her dedication
to the institution of marriage and building strong families. This dedication is the basis for her passion
for counseling women on how to build and sustain stable marriages and relationships. She has a
special burden for at risk youth and seeks to speak hope into their young lives. A personal mission
of hers is to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo heavy burdens, free the oppressed and minister
in a way that every yoke might be broken.
In June of 2007, Pastor Chess acknowledged the call to pastor and became the Sheppard of
Mountain's Hope Community Worship Center in Mountain House, CA. This new church plant is
rapidly growing and meeting the diverse spiritual needs of the churched and unchurched alike.
Services are truly under the direction of the Holy Spirit and Pastor Chess ministers with sensitivity to
the responsibility of ushering the congregation into the presence of the Lord where miracles are
possible.
Dr. Chess furthered her education at Shiloh Bible College, E.C. Reems Bible College and Holy
Names College, all in Oakland, CA. In 2004, Dr. Chess received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of
Ministry from Bell Grove Theological Seminary in recognition of more than 20 years of ministry that
began in the Baptist Church. As a Licensed Financial Analyst, she is the sole proprietor of C.C.C.

Troy and their son Joy.
